English & Maths

Our courses will help you to improve your English or Maths and gain a nationally recognised qualification - from beginners to GCSE. Courses are run at many different times and venues. To join a course you must to come to an enrolment session. At enrolment we will give you an assessment to make sure you go to the right class. English - what can we offer you?

Improving your Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening Skills

These courses are for people who already speak English and will help you improve the English you need every day. Courses are at different levels and follow the Adult National Curriculum. You will take a qualification at the end of the course. Courses start throughout the year. Phone or visit a centre to find out the next enrolment time (see above). These Classes are FREE.

Develop your English for work Skills

CLaSS offers a range of courses to help you to improve your formal English and work towards a Level 1 or Level 2 qualification. Level 1 is equivalent to GCSE grades D to G, Level 2 is equivalent to GCSE grades A to C. CLaSS offers the following FREE courses, click on the links to find out where and when these courses take place.

Move on English

If you don’t have an English GCSE and you would like a qualification at Level 1 or 2 this course will help you work towards one. You will brush up your English skills and take practice tests. GCSE English

CLaSS offers GCSE English courses.

GCSEGCSE courses begin in autumn 2009 with the exam in June 2010 – come to enrol in September. GCSE courses also begin in January 2010 with the exam in November 2010 – come to enrol in January. To join a course come to an enrolment session to complete an assessment – see above. There is a fee for this course. Enrolment may take up to 2 hours.

English Literature A2 Level

This is the second year of the A level course and is only available to people who have already passed AS level English Literature. Go to the first session to join. Please take your ‘AS’ certificate with you. There is a fee for this course.

Develop your Maths

Basic Maths

Basic Maths courses help to improve the maths you need every day. Courses are at different levels and follow the Adult National Curriculum. You will take a qualification at the end of the course. Brush Up Your Maths

These courses are for people who want to brush up the maths skills they need at work or at home such as calculating percentages, measurements and basic budgeting. You will take a qualification at the end of the course. Phone or visit a centre to find out the next enrolment time (see above). These are FREE courses. Move on Maths

If you don’t have a Maths GCSE and you would like a qualification at Level 1 or 2 this course will help you work towards one. You will brush up your Maths skills and take practice tests using computers. Phone or visit a centre to find out the next enrolment time (see above). These are FREE courses. Maths - Keeping Track of your Money

These courses will help you keep track of your income and expenses. You will look at savings and credit options while improving your numeracy skills. These courses are FREE. You can pre-enrol for these sessions or come to the first session to join.

Maths - Maths Extra

These classes help you prepare for a GCSE course. At the end of the course you will take a Level 2 Maths test. To join a course come to an enrolment session (see above). These are FREE courses. Enrolment may take up to 2 hours.

GCSE Maths
