Family Learning and Parenting

Child playing a drum

Family Learning courses and activities encourage families to learn together to gain new skills in a wide range of subjects. Families include parents, carers, grandparents or other adult relatives and children. Some courses are for parents or carers on their own to help them develop their skills to be able to support their children's learning and development. Most Family Learning courses are free. Family Learning activities are run in adult education centres, community venues and schools throughout Waltham Forest and throughout the year.

Free parenting courses help you make the most of your family life and your relationships with your child/children whatever your age or their ages. Courses enable you to develop ways to listen to your children and to deal with difficult behaviour so that you can enjoy the role of parent/carer. Carers who undertake the role of parent are also very welcome to attend.
