CLaSS Celebration of Achievement Event
The CLaSS annual celebration of achievement evening for over 350 learners and their families was held at the Walthamstow Assembly Hall on Wednesday 6th February 2008.
The learners who received their awards represent 1000’s of learners who achieved their goals during the year 2006-2007.
There were three main themes for the evening, Outstanding Success in Learning, Learning Journeys and Learning for Work. A member of staff from CLaSS introduced each of the themes and all nominated learners were invited up on to the stage to receive their certificate and to have their photograph taken.
There were short speeches from Sue McGarry from Early Years about the success of the Childcare Apprentices. Jane Brueseke
from Cyberlink spoke about the success of ‘My Endz’, this was a joint Photographic/Art project between CLaSS and the Cyberlink for
young men from the Beaumont Estate – at the back of the hall there was a superb display of the work that the learners had produced.
Annette House from EduAction spoke about all the staff that undertook and succeeded in their NVQ in Administration in just a matter of
weeks whilst holding down their full time employment.
Angela Eusebe, a learner who has attended Family Learning and other classes spoke eloquently about the support that CLaSS had given her, which meant that she had achieved so much and she urged everybody to join a course and continue learning.
Certificates were presented by Cllr. Geraldine Reardon - Portfolio Holder for Leisure, Arts and Culture, Sarah Carrick from the Learning and Skills Council and Mimi Konigsberg, Executive Director – Adult and Community Services who congratulated all the learners on their success.
